The Abrahamic way of peace and harmony

Faint Glow

A Prayer for Our Unity and Goodness

Dear God,

Help us to seek
truth together
to help one another
and unite in acts of loving kindness.

Help us to respect diversity
no
matter what our race, religious label or background.

During the chaos, and beyond
help us to find our common ground
by turning to You.

Our Creator and Source of Existence
The One God
Lord of The Worlds
to Whom the most beautiful names belong
Forgive us.
Guide us.
Increase us in knowledge and wisdom.
Help us to establish justice and peace
and deliver us from evil.

Help us to seek righteousness
and to take responsibility for our behaviour,
to do all we can using the blessings we have been granted
to fulfil our potential as humanity
according to Your Divine Will

Amen

The Abrahamic Scriptures on Ethics
The Abrahamic faiths share a common set of beliefs on being a good human being..

Isaiah (Yeshayahu) 58:6-7

"Is not this the fast that I have chosen? To loose the chains of wickedness, to undo the bonds of oppression, and to let the crushed go free... Is it not to share your bread with the hungry? "

Psalms (Tehillim) 133:1

"How good and pleasant it is when God's people live together in Unity!"

Matthew 7:12

"Do to others whatever you would like them to do to you. This is the essence of all that is taught in the law and the prophets."

Luke 12:33

"Sell your possessions, and give to the needy. Provide yourselves with moneybags that do not grow old, with a treasure in the heavens that does not fail, where no thief approaches and no moth destroys."

Isaiah 58:10

"Feed the hungry, and help those in trouble. Then your light will shine out from the darkness, and the darkness around you will be as bright as noon."

Qur'an 49:13

"O mankind, indeed We have created you from male and female and made you nations and tribes so that you may know one another. Indeed, the most noble of you in the sight of God is the most righteous of you. Indeed God is knowing and acquainted."

Qur'an 2:62

"Verily! Those who believe and those who are Jews and Christians, and Sabians, whoever believes in God and the Last Day and do righteous good deeds shall have their reward with their Lord, on them shall be no fear, nor shall they grieve ."
